For founders who are working on "protocols", why are you building it instead of an app / client?

Because they dont have a business model and need to launch a token eventually

The infra to do it decentralized doesn’t exist. So building app+infra is the choice for us.

I think protocols have stronger moats than apps

Some things are meant to be protocols. Others apps/clients. I am working on a new DeFi primitive, which is obviously in the protocol category. It will have an UI though, that's a client presumably.

depending on the business model it's sufficient to build the foundational example client only
