Hire curious folks outside of web3 and give them resources and room.

Agree, though that “curious” filter might be a challenge. 

I’ve found many engineers i know from my web/mobile/fintech days are skeptical of web3.

Oh, haha yes I understand how to gauge curiosity generally. 

In my experience, a lot of smart folks are curious about many topics, but have dismissed web3 specifically as scammy and overhyped. So while there are talented people in this space, there’s a reputation problem that deters many as well.

"what's the last thing you read"
"how do you learn new things"
"name a topic you're interestedin outside of work"

Test for curiosity.

If they're cynical, don't hire.
If truly skeptical, address doubts.
