A real life "tragedy in the commons" to die in an airport food court... yikes But yes, thank you for your well wishes. It was all very odd...

Last week I gave a talk to SF Civic Tech leaders on how AI can supercharge community work—from block organizing to workflow design. We covered AI-shaped problems, custom GPTs, and the POP-IT framework I co-developed. here's the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=klQSaGfsWBI

I had a near-death experience 2 days ago when a saved me with the Heimlich at the San Diego airport I feel lucky to not have died alone in the food court on the eve of my daughter's 5th birthday I owe a lot to the serendipity of strangers. Even in an AI-supercharged world, we still need humans ❤️ P.S. i normally would blog about this kind of thing, but i think it'd give my mom a literal heart attack so just posting it here instead P.P.S. if you don't know the Heimlich maneuver, here's your reminder to learn it; you might save a life one day too

Knowing how to read music rewires your brain a little, I’m sure it’s had a bigger impact than you might think

gm, I’m at my first big conference since I've been "AI-pilled" and I've found myself using AI in new ways, like generating real-time summaries with my app MuseKat, scanning resumes through custom GPTs, sending follow-ups with AI, and more. In today's post, more on how using AI is changing the way I learn: https://hardmodefirst.xyz/building-a-learning-lens-my-experience-at-asu-gsv-and-the-future-of-learning

This was back in January so it was ChatGPT (for prototyping idea) and Cursor (for executing). Got a little help getting it deployed on AWS. Today I would instead use v0 for a quick prototype + deployment for any basic web app, then move into Cursor when ready for a v2. I strongly recommending using AI to work through your problem + target solution before jumping right into coding. This was my starter prompt to ChatGPT.
