What is the end game for Monad? Is it to replace Ethereum? Is it to be a home for roll ups? Is it to be an environment for *some* EVM apps that require different speed than is offered by the current Eth stack? How do we think about this?

well, it’s an 100% EVM-compatible L1 that will use $mon as its native gas token (as well as gov). given that it’s claiming 10k tps (largely thanks to parallel execution?), seems like ethereum’s biggest competitor since solana.

I'm interested in this as well. It seems like the crux of their value prop is that parallel execution without sharding is superior to a sharded L1 or an L2-centric chain, which I'm not entirely convinced is true.

Sounds like Solana hardware and strategy with evm code. Skip stability for speed and crash or fragment
