Discord just announced it's de-prioritizing generic community software and doubling down on gaming. Big opportunity for crypto-native social apps. https://discord.com/blog/discords-next-chapter

FIT21 just passed in the House of Representatives. Here’s what it is about, why it matters, and what you can still do to help it become law: 🔖: https://a16zcrypto.com/posts/article/fit21-why-it-matters-what-to-do/

CSX Day 1: @jasonr: PMF is like playing poker. Achieving it is like winning hand - it gives optionality. @benrbn: Devil in the details, God in the defaults. What's cool for users? Dinner: "Are you on Farcaster?" in almost every convo paired with "This is how $degen works"

unfortunately we won't be able to stick with matrix (despite our hopes) it assumes that all nodes are trusted. that won’t work for a decentralized protocol. many contributions by HNT to the project got merged & even more (around that topic) hv been effectively rejected. so we moved to forge our own future

People can build their own clients. Ours will be soon open sourced. Communities can program their townsquares dynamics since primitives like read/write entitlements, moderation and ownership are secured on chain via upgradable smart contracts. Each town is its own smart contract. That part is actually live now

I agree too many centralized copies with sign in with wallet. I think the approach of figuring how to make it decentralized is where all the heavy lifting is.
