Have friends who do, 2 planes: one they lend to the club (DR220) and one for them only (Stolp Starduster Too SA300) and they seem to really enjoy them. However it may be complicated when you lend it to the club as they had some unhappy members having concerns about the club doing the maintenance for a private plane...

Interesting - what are the economics of that? I always thought I'd just rent until I can buy

Buddy of mine does this with 3 other pilots. They love it, but are close friends (and have been for some time) so probably helpful to not having any drama.
