Weird is on the nicer end. Deeply contrarian views get ostracized, ridiculed, even opposed by backchannel. Those same people will then later profess to have always been in your court, and believed in you all along when you prove your views right.

fwiw, it's not just a VC thing. I've seen it everywhere. 

It's a side of human behavior that emerges in fiercely competitive environments and a “win at all costs” mentality.

That said, its still a choice. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. 🫡
