💡Weeknd Public Brainstorming 💡 Question I'm pondering: How do you scale individual trustworthiness, not trust in the collective abstract? Follow along for my (and others’) reflections throughout the day. 🟪Warps for banger contributions. 🫡

Most people want to be trustworthy and see themselves as trustworthy, and yet the world is full of broken trust. Few people acknowledge to themselves let alone publicly that they've done something to merit losing someone’s trust. Why and how does this happen?

Positive incentives for trustworthy behavior: 1. Increase the importance of one’s position within the collective. 2. Foster a deeper level of commitment and connection between the individual and the group. Do this by being deeply values and vision oriented.

Second order questions I'm also considering: 1. What unintended consequences might there be with a given answer? 2. How will people likely try to game the system?

We use data to measure how trustworthy a person is based on their behavior. For example, we track how often they post, how accurate their information is, how responsive they are to other users, how respectful they are of our community guidelines, and how transparent they are about their identity and affiliations.

Can you say a bit more? What do you mean by "scale individual trustworthiness?"

1) strength, number & distance of connection to existing trustworthy individuals (who they are, hard to fake) 2) historical actions consistent to trust definition in network (what they do, hard to fake quickly) 3) completing actions after commitment (why to trust them, past reputation indicates future expectations)

I think it’s just about longevity: if they show trust many years in a row it means something. If you’re also with them for many many years, trust builds itself more or less

trustworthiness shortcut is alignment on core values. it's not foolproof, but many times you can set initial expectations based on how close that alignment is. also, same core values helps build communal trust, and conversely how the community reacts to breach of trust.
