Hey all - just wanted to share some of my concerns about the public nature of our casts/behavior on FC. Yeah, I understand do you think the concern about how it will be abused is valid, or do you believe that all of your personal content being publicly available will never be abused? because I’ve pointed to some historical examples of how lack of privacy ends badly I think there are models to satisfy both goals

“all of your personal content” doesn’t sound accurate; people share what they want but likely it’s a small percentage of the totality of their content/data

The article spells out how little data it takes I just analyzed a few hundred of my casts to create a decent personality profile Do this at scale across millions of FIDs (as FC scales) and I have a clear path to segmentation and targeting Not concerned about my individual privacy, but about the impact at scale

And this is without me even trying I can analyze all your engagement, who you engage with most, analyze their profiles, etc If FC gets large enough, many people will create entire psychographic graphs of FIDs and their relationships In the wrong hands, this is insanely easy to exploit If FC stays small, no worries

I’ve already more than doxxed myself here, but as a private investigator IRL, it’s scary how little info you need to build a profile. And sure, no problem if FC stays small, but the goal is big. Valid points, thanks for sharing. Should have seen my face when I saw Google indexed my profile already haha
