Design

Had a funny thought: 

design is inherently permissionless, but sometimes it doesn't feel like it. But whereas in coding it's pretty clear where you stand in terms of skill, design lives in the land of taste where things are fuzzier and that's where a lot of the gatekeeping happens.

So maybe one of the things we can do in /design is bring down some of those barriers and create shorter, more inclusive feedback loops for enthusiasts and students to get their hands dirty 

Spefically, by running contests that are scoped down and with their own set of guidelines and learning material, increasing the size of the participant pool

Need extra work tho for materials and guidelines 

Got a thought, imagine if we had a design academy where people move through these basics like typography etc and get awarded with points or something that then translates into the token they can use for smth

well that went too far lol but yeah

Well what you described is surely more work than materials and guidelines :P but a design course and self-learning is going in the roadmap, fantastic idea. As for it being tokenised, that's interesting too 👀

I'm currently running an experiment bounty for community to elevate the design of what recently came out and I thought a good idea - contracts.cool

Winning concept gets 12000 in degen tips
(Judged by me, if 2 concepts are similarly good - will split)

My suggestions:
- Add a simple logo
- Replace table with something easier to scan, cards? maybe categories of products the contracts are for
- Put icons of chains and popular apps using the contracts (feel free to leave out most popular contracts/apps for the concept example and can add icons too like for Moxie)
- Put avatars of friends
- Brand the page in general to fit with the logo you come up with
- Possibly a proper title to tell people what it does and shows
- Think about how it's going to be used: add a link to view the app the contract is for or a warpcast post linking to it

Delivered in Figma or Framer

Now people are coming up with brand and styling for this view - in a way helping the onceupon team who built it with ideas + making it a bit easier for me to come in and make a great design for it for the studio I'm building

In this case tbh onceupon probably was demonstrating their API capabilities but I want to do more of those for any based product coming out

For which I don't have enough of my own hands to go in and do

+ if the design is really great I can hire the person lol
