Great Lakes region looking ever more appealing by the day

It's all fun until those winters with negative temps and no snow to make it fun hit you month after month (that, and the persistent darkness every waking hour spent outside of work for the entire winter). But at least there's copious amounts of alcohol to keep you warm and entertained!

Oh don't expect to scare anyone off it, it's doable and I also grew up there and got on fine, but the level of depression is so, so much less when I'm able to go outdoors, recreate and enjoy sunshine year-round. The indoor office > indoor gym > couch and TV life is not for me, and that's largely all anyone I grew up with does these days from November to April (apart from a trip here or there bar hopping on snowmobiles)
