Made a fiat withdrawal from a CEX on Friday. It might arrive on my account on Monday, or maybe Tuesday given Chinese New Year. It absolutely boggles my mind that TradFi transactions still take days to clear, and that the stock markets aren’t trading 24/7. Such low hanging fruits, much inertia, very lazy, wowow

My go to offramp CEX is Coinbase. A SEPA withdrawal usually takes a couple of minutes before it hits my account. Withdrawals to paypal are instant. Probably very dependent on where you are based.

I tried to pay someone doing some quick internet work using Zelle and after the payment was instantly denied, the bank tried to tell me I couldn't use Zelle for a business transaction and I needed a business account. Its not even the time but how they try and regulate which dollars can be used where that's annoying.

This is called artificial friction. The goal is to allow control and for insiders to step in first. That's just all we should be destroying. Also it allows Devs to have weekends.

I deal with banks as little as possible, and in all fairness there's been great improvements. But just about every single time I do, the experience leaves me feeling like I'm back in the medieval ages. Strong cognitive dissonance whenever "cheeky" crypto influencers claim blockchain is only useful for speculation.
