I actually had both of these issues happen to me together at once just now - (a) pending autocorrect was not applied and (b) the TextInput was not cleared when I pressed send check out the ClearableTextInput code I linked above! it’s really simple to integrate. I’d be happy to submit a PR if possible cc @dwr.eth

yeah so that’s one side of the tradeoff but I think people with short legs have faster stride speeds my theory is that the legs are lighter and thus easier to move taller people are generally better sprinters, but that advantage goes away for longer distances… I think it boils down to stride speeds / efficiency

wondering if that generalizes for you, or if it's specific to Snapchat (vaguely an app targeted at children) if the government came to you and said they were considering forcing Signal to keeping an unencrypted copy of chats for 30 days in order to make it easier to identify criminals, would you be onboard?

I'd be okay with an authoritarian surveillance state given a hypothetical perfect state the reality is very far from that, though... eg. imagine getting arrested and sued for >$100k just for a meme https://www.deccanherald.com/world/on-my-way-to-blow-up-the-plane-joke-turns-into-a-spanish-court-trial-for-this-uk-man-2866231 and that's Spain, a modern healthy democracy! my family is from the former Soviet Union... the stories I've heard from them, the pervasive climate of fear... I am grateful to live in a timeline where E2EE exists and cryptographic privacy is possible

not to pick on this one user, but the unfortunate reality is that there's no way to give users privacy without resulting in some abuse it's a tradeoff we have to be conscious about, and one that I'll gladly take privacy is a human right

i tried the new NY mobile ID (“mid”) app unfort doesn’t work with the Wallet app like some other states do it makes you take a selfie when you set it up and displays that as your photo ID overall feels a little janky and mid. about right for NY public services lol
