latin america has very low religious diversity, as you might expect except for Uruguay, where diversity is high. similar to France or Australia the more i learn about Uruguay, the more i discover things like this

In the late 1800s all christian symbols started to be removed from Goverment Buildings, Cementeries became secularized etc. In 1917, the Uruguayan Constitution established the separation of church and state, ensuring that religious institutions had no formal role in government affairs.Nowadays, 40% of the population declares to be Non-Religious, the rest is mainly Christian tUruguay has a history of progressive legislation in the Region.
