I don't mean this as shade or in any disrespectful way, but I just scrolled through and didn't see any replies. Do people expect that just by continuing to post without engaging other users their following will grow automatically? Is that how they experienced their start on any other social media platform?

I've been a twitter user since like 2012, posting into the ether barely getting any engagement/following, it was only ever by replying that I got followers over there. By engaging others here and casting about my interests I was able to grow a following 10x the size in less than a year. Maybe the messaging could be better for new users, that they're not going to have a good time if they don't reply/engage with people, and they shouldn't expect that the size of their twitter following will transfer over?

Yelling into the void gets old. I almost didn't use this platform in the beginning for the same reason.
