I personally think we should try to use the word “CCP” instead of “China” in these matters, to always remember that the Party may be something different than the People. But I don’t disagree with the direction of your point here!

Agree with you it’s tricky (why I say “may be different”) Besides knowing a lot of dissenters to the Party, I prefer to hold out hope for the people at large But to your point, I admit that I have also witnessed up close the almost insane effectiveness of internal propaganda and pressure on Chinese citizens
