It goes a bit deeper than that. It's been a while since the term was used in the scenius here on Farcaster. The idea is that to get traction, you need to have content, and the people who drive the conversations here (so not just the conversation starters, but also the ones who keep that conversation going) are providing valuable growth liquidity. 
If I remember correctly, it was also in contrast to low effort casting. With all respect for the ritualistic GM (and Bonj') -ing, if that is all you see when you enter a new social network, and replies like wowow (hence the wowow like button), it is not the most attractive place to put your heart and soul in. The CLPs provide that welcoming and attractive environment.

Consistently providing conversational liquidity (i.e., thoughtful, context-aware casts that encourage discussion) takes considerable time and effort. I'd love to see the FC ecosystem make better provisions for funding the CLPs. 

Adrienne's idea is intriguing. Could rewards based on some sort of "CLP score" work well for this?

Thanks for sharing and your thoughts, Danica. It was a bit of a summary by memory of the thoughts that were circulating back then on Farcaster (is it really only a year ago). But it is a great conecpt to keep thinking about and seeing how we can reward it. 
Don't get me wrong, I like the GM ritual (although I do Bonj' myself now), but it sometimes seems the majority of my feed. Just saying hi to eachother has no deeper value.

Since the rewards started, 90% of my timeline is filled with GM, GA, GN. I think once a day is ok. But in general I prefer to have deeper exchanges.

I appreciate your explication of the CLP concept. Very nicely articulated. I agree that it's a great concept that deserves continued thought and attention. 

It's a fun meme and it's part of the FC scenius lore, but it's also a great reference point for discussions about what the ecosystem could do to fund writers and develop better affordances for ongoing convos.
