Justin, you can chuckle. That's quite okay. I'm with you. It's not the cursive, or attaché. That's lovely, and fine. I am a person who writes with a fountain pen daily. The unexpected thing, and we had that, too, is the importance that is given to this particular way of writing. This cursive or attaché. Of course, it's beautiful, and convenient and it gives words fancy dresses and that's all great. But the fact that this particular way of writing is given so much importance, as if without the ability to do so, you will never succeed in life, is unexpected and quirky and french and therefore worthy of a chuckle. Not one to ridicule, but one to acknowledge a cultural custom that is unfamiliar to you. And that's what it is, you notice a cultural specificity. I really don't believe that's impolite. 1 reply
