My wife's cat, who was with her for 24 years (a long life!), has passed away. She is heartbroken. I don't know what to say to her😭

I'm so sorry to hear that. It's certainly a long time, and cats are members of the family to many of us. 

I'd just be there with her, make sure she knows what a special cat they were, and how they will always be remembered as part of the family. I imagine it'll take a while for that pain to go away. I know that I would be devastated. 🙏😭

In time, maybe she would open her heart up to another cat? Not to replace her old friend, but as a new relationship.

If a psychiatrist helps her to deal with the grief, I think that's a great thing to do.

I hope that she will get over his death soon, but I can understand how the loss could totally devastate someone. I feel my cats are part of my family, and I would feel their loss like a human death. It's not something that you can get over in a day, week, or even months. Healing will take time.

She is lucky to have you by her side. 💜

You are right, I will tell her what a great family Beckham was. It will take a long time.
