My wife's cat, who was with her for 24 years (a long life!), has passed away. She is heartbroken. I don't know what to say to her😭

I'm so sorry to hear that. It's certainly a long time, and cats are members of the family to many of us. 

I'd just be there with her, make sure she knows what a special cat they were, and how they will always be remembered as part of the family. I imagine it'll take a while for that pain to go away. I know that I would be devastated. 🙏😭

In time, maybe she would open her heart up to another cat? Not to replace her old friend, but as a new relationship.

And it's wonderful that you met your two cats and gave them names. What do you call them? 

My wife is also devastated by the loss of her cats, but she is recovering. I will watch over her quietly and gently.

My cat died unexpectedly in front of me and I was devastated. I didn’t want anymore for a while out of respect almost…. My mum came back with two kittens a couple months later and they’re what helped me ‘get over it’.
They’re not toys, but they are there to improve our lives, as we improve theirs by adopting them.
