Quests made web3 grow. But they got a bad name. But that doesn't have to be the case. I'm excited for AMA008 this Friday with @apurvkaushal, founder of Intract. Apurv is helping web3 companies distribute incentives intelligently via a data & identity network of 500k monthly active users. Curious about how to do quests, airdrops and incentives right? Some say Web2 growth methods don’t work in Web3. If that’s true, why do you think that is? By methods, I mean things like airdrops and quests, which are wildly popular in Web3

We have tried almost everything under the sun here Web2 methods that did not work - paid ads (b2b & b2c), paid ads for retargeting (main reason was we kept getting banned on google, meta, reddit ; X Ads in general is not good) , web3 ad networks (very high CAC & limited reach compared to other channels , this may be due to the infancy of such networks) Web2 methods that worked somewhat- SEO ( haven't optimised much due to dev bandwidth but we noticed user behaviour of googling stuff like X project airdrop ) , Account based marketing ( works like a charm, its honestly a fancy way of doing web3 BD ) , Email marketing ( great open rates + conversions , both b2b & b2c ) , Automated Drip journeys (was surprised to see this work , especially on X) So all in all you got to try this out for your project - general consensus does exist though for paid ads (haven't seen them work for anyone)

One insight has been the idea of community led marketing should be natural first picks when starting - influencer, affiliates, referrals . Simply because you can align incentives much better in the space & then there is an existing behaviour to propel it forward. We even tried instagram for a bit - gave up a lil early is what I will say (promising especially with case studies such as cryptonary, pudgy)
