As an Eastern European myself, I’m a big fan of Žižek. Though he’s a respected academic and public figure, to me he perfectly embodies the slavic boomer—a more refined version of that one uncle we all have, who, at every party, drunkenly projects his deeply internalized coping mechanisms for surviving the trauma leviathan born of decades in a Soviet state.

I agree with you (I think? I don't have a slavic uncle lol), but the way he articulates his trauma / his ideas is good enough to be worthwhile! Also, in the screenshot he's not wrong Also worth mentioning that Zizek drunk at a party should be a sight to behold

Whether he is right or wrong depends on what fits best someone’s personal experience, but that itself stands as a strong counter to his argument 🤣
