I respect this take — on balance I read much more nonfiction than fiction. But I will say that some of the most powerful and lasting lessons I’ve ever taken from reading have been from fiction books. The human mind is structured to understand and retain concepts through stories, and a well-told story even if fictional, can sometimes teach lessons about the real world more powerfully than just getting the raw information.

The thing to keep in mind is that nothing is fiction - this is just a way of saying that "everything is a remix". No character, plot or metaphor is made-up. Everything springs from the life experience (real or imagined) of the author. This would get philosophical quickly, but you know what I mean The gift of good fiction writers is to take their life, ideas and real people they know and turn them into something new, more than the sum of their part @tldr I have a feeling you have something to contribute here
