I think it all comes down to two points, both of which have different interpretations. 
1. What does it mean to be smart? 
2. Quantify richness. 
These are two questions that everyone can answer differently. From these two points comes a third that should encompass the meaning of it: 
"In what do you have to be smart about, to become rich these days?" 
Well, I think it's an interesting topic to try to answer.

it’s a relief tbh, thinking you are smart carries a huge burden

this ain’t true, some of them just want different things in life.

some are so smart that they aren’t blind to having wealth or riches so i stand with it not being true (imo)

I am more of a believer that success is the result of being prepared at the moment when the opportunity presents itself and yes that requires being smart, on the other hand the opportunity It does not reach everyone equally, which in some way disproves this theory: many must work 10x to have the same as others.

Skill beats out talent any day. Talent is conditional, but anyone can skill up.

i agree, talent is birthed from passion/hardwork, being gifted means you innately excel in that field, gifted people don’t care about monetising such things most time since it’s basically a normal thing for them, btw, you can’t be gifted and unsuccessful

I feel there may some factor of luck associated with success in general doesn't mostly have to do how smart a person is.
