Having rarely seen the word “viral” used in this app for the past year and a half, it’s been jarring seeing it everywhere the last 36 hours I personally don’t care for it. Of course I want distribution, but “viral” carries connotations of low quality attention sniping Maybe a marketing optics thing

I agree with you — I think the word is off The 1000 true fans dream of sustainable p2p economies is in tension with virality and reaching billions regardless of depth of connection

Yeah the less ppl go viral the more room there is for the 1k true fans/proud to pay type relationships. I think it’s just their marketing, but it’s kind of a tell for the underlying thinking
