In times like these, when we praise a VP debate for breadcrumbs of civility, I think more about Obama He was a very decent man and would have been an incredible peacetime leader Unfortunately we were already at war, and Obama did not have Lincoln’s good luck to notice it, nor his melancholy to navigate it

he literally expanded the so called “war on terror” and made every effort to ensure US military involvement was less visible domestically, and changed strategies to replace conventional warfare with drone strikes, cyberwarfare, and spec ops he was a war monger but optics made him look like a peaceful negotiator

It is ironic that he won the Nobel Peace Prize whilst increasing drone strikes 1000% vs Bush — one of which intentionally targetted and killed a US citizen Perhaps a well spoken man. Decent? Most certainly not https://mwi.westpoint.edu/ten-years-after-the-al-awlaki-killing-a-reckoning-for-the-united-states-drones-wars-awaits/ https://www.thebureauinvestigates.com/stories/2017-01-17/obamas-covert-drone-war-in-numbers-ten-times-more-strikes-than-bush/
