Why does Warpcast use so many different hosts / CDNs for PFP urls?

I'm having to add a ton of remote patterns to my next config to be able to show external images

I could add a proxy route to fetch images and serve them, but this seems like an unnecessary hop

Feel like I'm missing something here...

Oh good flag — is this in dev docs anywhere? If not, recommend highlighting this so others also know what to do

use cloudflare as a proxy that can also transform images to the right size for your needs

you won’t depend on WC service providers but more importantly since anyone can set these themselves very easy for someone to slow or crash your app by setting 20mb gif

I transform fc pfps with cloudinary in all my projects now. Usually solves the weirdness with some pfps on here too

Seems like a bad move from security / perf standpoint?

It appears Imgur-based image embeds from about a year ago are starting to succumb to link rot and causing weird rendering issues in cast embeds.

following @greg's feedback i've decided to make the routes clearer

also supports getting users by address (both connected and custody) 

we're already at v2, so i'm taking meetings for next week's fundraise

you could use this, the URL is always the same and works with both fetch and <img> tags. free as well (and heavily cached).
