They're mostly useless but you get FOMO because all your friends are there

Marginally useful for sales, but it's honestly just an excuse to party

would argue majority of conferences (any industry) are just an excuse to party

very few are designed to be pure sales engagements

you probably don’t think about liquidity enough // it is what it is  // build value, not valuation

That's true - I went to Strata Hadoop once at the peak of big data

It was basically a raison d'etre for CIOs... I think they ended up losing their jobs a few years later or pivoted to AI thought leaders

at least CES is on the nose "we're not doing any business here" and yet everyone shows up
