I hate how bright car headlights are now It’s like an arms race to see who can blind each other more I’ll rant more later about how dumb it was to ban incandescent bulbs and embrace LEDs — I suspect many health issues are exacerbated by poor light diets

in what ways do you think LED lights are deficient?

Technically nothing strictly wrong with LEDs themselves, mostly that truncating the spectrum to just certain wavelengths is bad for you (LEDs give more control and the ability to do that compared to incandescent) The light source should be full spectrum and ideally emit heat as well — as close to the sun or a fire

with regards to full-spectrum, that’s mostly an issue if you are buying low-quality LED bulbs. you can get full or near full spectrum LED bulbs with 90-100 CRI ratings. of course incandescent is perfect 100 CRI but they also have many downsides. 100W+ halogen bulbs are a hazard.

I’m not denying that it’s possible to get the good shit if you pay attention and spend more money But most people, cars, and buildings are not buying the good shit Just lamenting the fact that in the past, the default was the good shit
