Feeling heartbroken looking at the pictures and videos of the hurricane aftermath coming out of Asheville and greater WNC The media isn’t covering the damage there because there’s no way to get in or out, nor any cell reception right now I’m not sure how to help from afar but if I figure out how, I’ll let y’all know

I have family out there, presently have no idea if they're okay or not, it's pretty jarring seeing what trickle of reports and footage is coming out of there right now

I’m really sorry to hear that and hope that they are okay. Fwiw, everything I’m reading suggests that lack of comms is “normal” and shouldn’t be by itself a cause for concern It is jarring… I was there recently and the area has a piece of my heart. I am feeling a sense of loss

I've been approaching the situation with that perspective (the normalcy of silence post disaster), it's something I've grown up around living in tornado alley. Hoping for good news soon regardless.
