I think it’s a good thing that all of the world’s interaction design & UI engineering talent gets diverted from building CRUD, e-commerce, or finance apps that are better handled by natural language commands. And more towards “direct manipulation” creative apps.

Nothing beats the classic GTA radio stations from the 3D era. Haven’t seen a better soundtrack in a game, film, or TV series since then Especially Vice City, San Andreas, and Vice City Stories.

Finally saw Everything Everywhere All At Once. Feels a bit weird for a science fiction action film to be mashed up with what is essentially a coming-of-age story centered around the feelings of a Chinese millennial teenager. But it was fun! And I can relate.

I’m a sucker for… slice of life stories (like Reply 1988) quality science fiction (like Asimov, Heinlein, Neal Stephenson) character studies (like Halt and Catch Fire, Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul) Really do wonder if good stories can exist at the intersection of these three

Twitter fracturing into Farcaster (web3), Mastodon (serious), Poast (shitposting), Post (politics), and Truth Social (religion, conspiracy theories, white nationalism) is probably a good thing. These are divisive things incompatible with broadcast posting.

Have a feeling the Twitter migration debacle will end up (at least among tech circles) splintering into tech optimists funneling here, and tech pessimists funneling into Mastodon. Twitter will boom after this, but only among “normie” users (similar to Instagram or Tumblr)

Bullish on web3 apps/protocols that are about permissionless creation over meaningless financialization, like Farcaster or Arpeggi. Financialization is easily the most visible aspect but also the least interesting aspect of web3 tech.
