did jack and cadmonkey make their artistic responses independently, or is one clearly a derivative of the other?

I think it’s a good question. 
If Cadmonkey did inspire Jack in any way I think it’s an awesome thing & it’s also the power of spreading memes & ideas through the use of CC0.

Cadmonkeys 6529 meme card is CC0. We can’t be totally sure the origin of the idea but in CC0, remixing & deriving is welcome. 💙

To me, other than that both artworks refer to Hirst's sharks, they are totally different. They make different points, they were made using different techniques, and they don't even look that similar.
