That's interesting.. one for the fascination and another one for more practical purposes. i have been fascinated by the languages borne out of Latin ( that's not english )... Italian piques my interest now

Italian is pretty interesting. I'm from SouthEastAsia and English is enough to communicate with the Western hemisphere for the most part. The former Soviet Union countries are pretty alluring to me in terms of culture and languages Never going to learn French

haha, I did consider French in my teens for a few months when I had an interest, for a few months, to want to go there to study aerospace engineering but dropped as my attention could allow for only one serious learning endeavor at the time. Besides, engineering in a foreign language seemed like a tough proposition. former Soviet countries do have that allure in my mind too and are amongst the top places I want to visit in Europe. Which part of SEA you from? What languages do you speak? I can speak Tamil and can get by with Hindi, though, of course English is the lingua franca of modern India…
