The more questions I find answers for, the more questions I seem to have. Is spirituality all about just making peace with this endless loop of questions and answers? šŸ¤”

In Rome for the first time. And, randomly ran into this statue of Giordono Bruno in Campo deā€™ Fiori. ChatGPT tells me that he was burnt to death in 1600 for his ā€œcontroversialā€ views, including his belief in an infinite universe with countless inhabited worlds. šŸ˜³

TIL that there are 24 countries under the American sanctioned list. I was naively assuming a single digit count.

First I have seen the coverage of Nusantara in a mainstream Western publication. And, of course, it is the Economist with their characteristic bearish headline. Makes me actually bullish about the prospects now. The SoP forum conversations on the topic was more comprehensive and provided for a better understanding of the motivations. Treating Nusantara as the cultural hyper-object it is with appropriate historical and technological sensibilities is just simply far more generative. Also, loved Kevin Martens Wongā€™s essay on the topic. https://www.merlionsman.com/_files/ugd/b3d16b_f94ead860d164b1b80ee630a8ae37177.pdf

"The flight carried an advanced payload suite consisting of instruments for addressing some of humanity's most critical issues : stereo-optical cameras, for creating precise elevation models used to understand disasters such as floodings and earthquakes and how to mitigate them; infrared cameras to allow for prediction and detection of wildfires and to detect methane leaks in real time, representing two significant sources of global warming" https://www.eurekamagazine.co.uk/content/news/sceye-demonstrates-breakthrough-diurnal-flight-in-the-stratosphere/

ā€œHard times are coming, when weā€™ll be wanting the voices of writers who can see alternatives to how we live now, can see through our fear-stricken society and its obsessive technologies to other ways of being, and even imagine real grounds for hope. Weā€™ll need writers who can remember freedomā€”poets, visionariesā€”realists of a larger reality.ā€

Only recently discovered the Hindustani Classical genre, Dhrupad. Growing up in a family Carnatic Music aficionados and practitioners, felt was kinda insulated from this gem of a genre but guess better late than never. Rudra Veena, Gharanas, Tihais, Jatis, Aksharasā€¦ itā€™s an ocean out there to learn about with many similar patterns to other genres that Iā€™m slightly more familiar with. YouTube doesnā€™t have very many songs. All India Radio, Delhi probably has the best archives.. maybe one day after fu money I can dedicate more time to this nascent interest. https://youtu.be/q5trNs7M3MU?si=dGrV7WPTpnbItEXH

traveling outside the country and seeing the artificial constraints imposed by a minority stuck in legacy beliefs affecting the large majority in deeply profound ways reminds me of the primary reason I was interested in Crypto. Monkey JPEGs and colorful tribal markers are fun and games until one is hit with the harsh reality of people depending on moving vehicles armed with machines for their lives. depth of the issues, we collectively as humans, have to solve for is paradoxically resisted with surface level superficial trust in arbitrary bureaucracy ( soft protocols? ) than hard ( in Josh Starkā€™s sense ) protocols. Trust math not humans is the message to proselytize, maybe.
