Why don’t you give up the imperial system?

Because it is elected within Catholics… 😜 the imperial system was not invented in US. Even the inventories gave up and are now using the metric (more logical) system. My question is honest. I’m really interested to understand what is the friction (beside adaptation) to migrate to the metric one.

Let me flip it to you -- by what process did the rest of the world adopt the metric system?

Same as adapting to the fact that the earth rotates around the sun and not the vice versa. It’s called scientific evolution.  If a system is better, we adapt it. So we evolve.

Non scientists Americans still use the Ptolemaic system? :)

So, you confirm it’s just resistance in doing something (even if recognized better) and not a conviction that it’s better to keep the old system.

American scientists use metric? :)

It’s actually quite hard to get all 300M+ Americans to do anything, esp. with 50 states.
