It’s wild how it looks like someone just picked up this map and gravity caused all the water to flow down into Spain, except for some water that is still flowing into Italy

It's just such a strange imbalance of weather. I recall hearing about very strange rain pattern that happened from Spain into the Med. Does anyone know what it was and can explain it to me?
