If you’re on food stamps (SNAP), you only get plain water. If you complain about it, you shouldn’t have decided to be poor.

Gonna take a contrarian take here, but 90%+ of soda are straight up VERY bad for health, and responsible for multiple health disorder, starting with obesity. Not saying it's good that rich people can have them, and poor people can't, but it's not a bad thing to not have access to soda 🤷‍♂️

I agree. Sodas are bad. But the government should not be in the business of telling people not to drink sodas. Even if they require assistance

Let’s ban high fructose corn syrup which would do wonders to help reduce obesity. Soda isn’t bad but like you said not good to say I can have it but you can’t.

it's so much dumber than this there are actually 3 groups being talked about here - rich, poor, and food stamp recipients OP explicitly complains that there's someone out there who has "cut back on junk food" (the middle group here) bc they like it but they cannot afford it, and they are subsidizing the recipients i agree that soda is bad, i think it should be taxed heavily, moreso than alcohol or cigarettes (which can actually be defended as real lifestyle choices), soda and hfcs should be out of reach for most people but Matt Walsh is just mad that freeloaders are taking the sweet sweet corn nectar from a taxpaying american, Matt Walsh wants everyone drinking soda except for people who he deems unworthy, Matt Walsh thinks soda is a special treat for people who work hard enough and everyone else gets plain white walls, saltine crackers, and a life of zero flavors
