My job now is easy working on the pets section of the Amazon app. No need to grind more, have less free time, work with less talented engineers, and have to worry about stability ever 6 months based on market and narrative. I’m good

Sad truth is teams are either hiring the hungry and excited or the pedigree they think potential investors want to see on their next fundraising deck 

And if you try to recruit pedigree it comes with a lot more strings attached - money, time to start date, etc.

Feel like most people aren’t ambitious and/or discipline enough to execute on anything. Let alone proactive enough to throw aside stability for chaos 

And have found that “pedigree” candidates are also toying with the idea of starting their own thing too

Anyways if you got frens in SF feeling that way hmu

I'm in SF and there's tons of pedigreed people that go to startups just because they are bored with everything else they could work on - no startups are competing on comp, etc

You just have to find people that actually like building and shipping
