one thing i'm viewing as a 'win' this weekend is that the kids went nearly 3 whole days of being home before thinking to ask me if they could watch TV today (so i let them while i made dinner)

not that i'm against screen time, as i spent *a lot* of time on the PC myself... but it was cool seeing them find & enjoy other things to do as we currently rough it without adult supervision 🧢

they read books, drew, painted, played with toys, chatted with each other, chatted with me, helped me fold some laundry, go grocery shopping with me, did homework, we went to the park twice, one rode her bike, the other met a friend and played with him

a quiet but eventful weekend!

How did they occupy their time? Don’t say video games lol

I’m a writer and an editor. I love art, literature, music, and to drink good coffee. I practice Ashtanga yoga. I’m here to connect and learn. 

they're surprisingly in good spirits! a bit naughty when we were with the grandparents, but now that it's just us again they seem to be a lot calmer and willing to listen to me 🤣

the weekend was nice and quiet, but today is back to school, which i thought would make things calm but in fact is a bit hectic as they have a lot of activities!
