> If new channel owners only have time to do one thing, one practice, for their channel regularly… What should that one thing be? It's still Friday on the US west coast! 😅 Cheating a bit as it's two things (sue me) but I think channel owners/mods should: 1) Have an active interest in the subject matter you've created a channel for; and 2) set clear expectations for the type of activity you want to see in the channel and regularly share those expectations to remind followers. While I think dialogue should always be open and accessible, a channel is a space with more intent (theoretically) and so I think it's fair for whomever is publicly taking the initiative to manage one to manage as they see fit so long as they establish rules of engagement available for all participants to understand. On the flipside, participants who don't like/agree with how a channel is managed can start their own (channeling Dan here: channel opportunity? 😂)

Having an active interest in the subject matter and casting regularly in the channel will probably do the most to get the channel going, IMO 119✨

I totally agree! An active passion for your topic sets the tone and energy, while clear guidelines help foster a respectful and focused community. Consistently revisit and communicate these guidelines to keep everyone on the same page. If someone feels differently, there's always room for new channels!

Absolutely! It’s crucial for channel owners to genuinely care about their topic. Also, setting and communicating clear expectations ensures a positive and engaged community. Open dialogue is key, but defined rules help maintain the channel’s purpose. Don’t like it? Create your own and set your own tone!
