Bad sci-fi books (yawn): Hyperion, Foundation, and Three Body Problem 

Good sci-fi books (fun!): Dune, Red Rising, Project Hail Mary

Hyperion was mid. 

Foundation is a grind (I’m 40% through, too early to judge but not looking good). 

Three Body Problem was amazing. 

Dune is goated.

I normally like sci fi books like that despite their high concept shenanigans, but 3BP really stood on the strength of its sci fi heart
