americans are much more open and friendly. When we spent summer in LA, all the neighbors around us came to say hi, asked us simple questions, and recommended places to go. I've been living in the UK for years, and I barely know any of my neighbors. They never say hi to me instead they avoid any eye contact. When I say hi to them they look at me like I'm a crazy person.
