A mentor of mine once suggested subtle ways to stop apologizing.  Instead of  "Sorry I'm late", she told me to use ️"Thank you for your patience".

I try not to overthink it and there's probably a balance to strike.

(I had to consciously re-train myself to switch out "sorry" for "pardon me" for a ton of just daily bumping around the world interactions).

Apologies, I know this on the female-gender agreeability take - but boy, those big-five personality types can be equal opportunity cripplers!

When I was doing diversity and inclusion research and advocacy (back when I was the most senior woman in a 1000 person engineering org) one of my biggest a-ha learnings was how much the “woman” experience was felt by so many men. Definitely opened my eyes and expanded my brain 💜💜
