Yeah, I feel the same. Of course there’s so much learning available on the internet, but something about dedicated places of learning makes it feel different and I miss the luxury of having my identity be “student”

Would absolutely love to find time to audit some IRL courses. 

Having incredibly smart people with the sole ambition of teaching you things is such a privilege.

I can't tell if the pendulum is swinging back, or I've just curated my social feeds really well because I've been seeing more people talk about these topics.  Hard to know but we can at least try to live our lives prioritizing play and creativity.

I wish adult playing was as universal as children playing. 

I think we've dangerously discounted the notion of "play" - even in video games etc., we've turned play into something that has to be measured by its output and achievements rather than for its own sake.

I've building a consulting company after 20+ years as an operator, so lots of learnings there. 😮‍💨   I'm also learning about media creation - started a podcast with some college friends just for fun, and hosting gmfarcaster.com

What are you learning right now?

Actually walked past a pediatric therapy facility this morning and had a similar thought. The facility is titled “Development is Child’s Play.”

I was struck with the thought that many adult’s need to realize that child’s play is necessary even in adults.

The larger Wall Street network and regime has influenced and created a world that's borderline psychopathic. "Greed is good!" - "Trickle-down economics, m'boy!" - "Pull yourself up by your bootstraps!" 

Practically no one has time to leisurely learn. ;(
