my flow state is like super sayan mode. it's a burst of miraculous productivity, but i can't maintain it for more than 4h max, usually 1-2h. how long can you keep it on?

can do 6-8 hours using pomodoro timer for meals/walks/life. but have to be strict about focused times to stay in the state. any unplanned meeting or checking tabs/apps out of scope ruins it. have to treat the timer like a steel door opening and closing ๐Ÿง  โ›“๏ธ

I learned about motivation during my psych degree. Motivation does not run out or โ€œfatigueโ€ unless you believe it does. There are usually external factors that affect your productivity like whether youโ€™ve eaten or exercised. Try holding it for 4.5 hours and then increase it. I think youโ€™d be surprised!

My bursts usually run over a short few days (pending nobody ruins it with pointless meetings - enterprise did not suit me well) So I'd typically go 3-4 days full flow (12-16hrs/day), but then sluggish for 2-3 days. Keep rotating between flow/burn and I wear out after about 3-4 months and need a few weeks off.
