The goldilocks zone of governance is a self-optimizing composition of two polarities, centralization and decentralization, in service of the larger organization's continually evolving raison d'etre.

I have dug a hole, and called it home. It’s disappeared in a grassy knoll, that if you stroll upon its ground you will not know the air around the hole that is a home. And all the world afire, no one knows. The barks and cries and screeches and clanks of cities fell can hardly be heard, yet are all that’s told.

I’m fascinated by “semantic fossils” that exist in the world I.e. where we use a phrase / word like “hot off the press”, “floppy disk icon”, “riding shotgun” or “horsepower” but we don’t use a shotgun in cars anymore, or horses for measuring power or floppy disks anymore One day, we’re going to be on another planet, and some kid who’s never been on earth is gonna wonder why some things are still measured in 365 days

This is perhaps the only attitude to have— fatalistic. Lemonade from lemons.

Bhutan is dreaming and it’s beautiful to witness when political cynicism is at an all time high in the west. The concept plans for Gelephu, their new city, get me so pumped for the future. I’d like to see 100s of experiments in network states, charter cities, special economic zones, etc. https://decrypt.co/300122/bhutans-special-administrative-region-to-adopt-bitcoin-ethereum-in-strategic-reserves

Yea the critical end of the spectrum becomes impossible to talk coherently because everything signifies everything. No common dictionary is shared, so everything becomes a matter of definitional disagreement.

More of an observation that when I speak to those who are critical of the term they tend to be referring to woke culture and identity politics. Whereas when I speak to people who embrace the term and identify as on the left, their thinking tends to be more aligned with class consciousness.

To liberate our minds, we must not stop at deconstructing every story and its narrative logic. We must also be free to fire off new visions of ourselves, and quick to abandon them. For the magic to take root it must be poetic, therefore it must understand and value loss.
