very well said. esp appreciate the “99.99% of economics” part my hottest take here is that cryptocurrency will never be a good currency (à la USD) because maintaining an inflation target is inherently subjective 1. determining the CPI requires picking a basket of goods. every couple years the BLS adds (or removes) goods… eg. at some recent point cell phones were added 2. picking an inflation target requires balancing stable prices against low unemployment. these goals are often at odds and picking between them is a political decision instead of framing cryptocurrency as currency, I prefer to think about blockchain as an engine for decentralized consensus the money part is necessary to incentivize consensus. the point isn’t to introduce a new currency or replace central banks… it’s all about decentralized (objective, strict) consensus

posted a couple weeks back about using Farcaster to reengage churned users just launched our first reengagement experiment: https://warpcast.com/ashoat.eth/0x48f30c13 our ultimate goal here is something much more visually interesting (maybe a chatroom mini-app or frame?) but wanted to get an initial experiment out ASAP curious for feedback from other founders, especially anybody who has had success addressing retention issues with reengagement via Farcaster feeds

today we're launching the first in a series of experiments to bridge between Comm and Farcaster: the Comm thread bot 🧵 how it works: when you tag @comm.eth in a cast with the string “#createathread”, the bot will respond with a link to a new chat thread on Comm we believe that chat and feeds are complementary surfaces, and hope that Comm threads can provide a low-stakes place for realtime chat about conversations happening on Farcaster
