I think the standard should be building a product so good your customers AREN’T begging you for a token. They just want the product because it solves a painpoint that well.

I’m running a Sprint Week this week with a company to redo their whole website, brand, and messaging. I’ve been running Sprint Weeks for 9 years, but here’s a couple observations from this week so far: 1. Time constraints have unnatural abilities. 2. Rewriting a homepage headline is incredibly cathartic. 3. Simplicity is an art. 4. Designers are the real cool kids.

I struggled writing this, but I finally put thoughts together to share. A few weeks ago, we decided to officially shut down @holder. I loved every minute. It was an honor to build this company. When I started @holder, we assumed that brands in web3 would want to communicate with customers in similar ways as web2 (1:many, text-based subscriptions like email). While I still believe it will come, the truth is a new medium of customer comms was needed (channels, memecoins, NFT mints, many:many communities, etc).

This is so accurate from @df @jayme And realistically, it needs to be 10x better, not just comparable or better. we’re not there. Personally, I think we’re setting the bar too low as builders (& investors). Too much focus on financial outcomes drives unnatural behaviors that aren’t real consumer value.

Thinking this morning again about the Rippling $13.5B valuation... Is HR tech really that hot? I've done a few companies in that arena in my career and they have always been some of the hardest to get GTM traction. Yet MASSIVE, stale incumbents to disrupt. What are the thoughts among this group?

It was such an amazing experience getting to play a small part in helping put on Farcon 2024 this year. And building amazing relationships and friendships along the way. 🫡 I cannot wait to see what 2025 has in store!
