I think about spaced repetition forgetting curves for marketing/branding absolutely all of the time. Did you just launch? You need to get in front of people again at 2, 7, 30 and 60 days later if you don't want to be forgotten. This is the stuff brands are built on.

I think this is one of the biggest challenges in VC. It relies too much on vibes. And is still too much of a black box to the outside.

Love this slide. Reminds me of the slide we used in every Salesforce pitch (updated probably 10 times over the last 20 years).

Yes! And I got to work with Chris Moody a tiny bit when he was at Foundry Group. He led Gnip up through the acquisition to Twitter. Some amazing stories.

Yeah, I don’t think much risk re: Farcaster (that’s the entire point of their existence), but if you build very Warpcast-specific features that may never make it to the protocol (DMs, channels, compose actions, etc). I was around building on that Twitter firehouse api in 2012-2015 era — talk about platform risk. The 2011-2013 era of Twitter products were epic.

Being the one in the arena is also just much more fun. Saying that from experience going VC > founder.

Or trickle-down venture-nomics as I like to call it. Gotta spread that VC wealth somehow.

I have a love/hate relationship with it. I hate the time suck it is. But if you’re in good conversations with good VCs (unfortunately, that can be rare, especially in crypto), I really enjoy pitching, sharing the vision, getting feedback, and getting others excited about the future you want to create.

When can we start calculating CAC for airdrops? I don’t think anyone truly understands how high it is. Let’s make CAC cool again.

Love the new brand. Still feels a bit web3-y if you know what I mean. Like if you didn’t already have a wallet or know what web3 was already, it wouldn’t make sense I don’t think.

For those of you that love data - you can "go deeper" on Ponder polls, even if you didn't make them. Just tap the frame button after voting. You can slice results by: - Power Badge - Farcaster OG (FID 20,000 or less) - Popular Farcasters (>1,000 followers)

Idealab (90s or ~2000). Rocket Internet (~2007) Sutter Hill was doing incubation back with Nvidia and Purestorage. There were tons of other accelerators and incubators back then as well — just not many of them made it and are still around.

I usually lean in around the top VCs in that city. They typically like to convene founders for in-person events, happy hours, etc. And VCs are the one group founders will show up for.
