Spent my Saturday afternoon roughing out some logo badge concepts for a little side project.

Thinking about Figma as a $750m venture-backed business with massive expectations to generate returns makes its rising usage of dark UX patterns around plans & pricing more human — and more flawed.

Easy, massive at-home QoL improvement at the new place today: tightened every single hinge and handle and blasted them all with WD-40. Not a single squeak or jiggle to be had.

I hit 500 followers over the weekend. Woah. I haven’t actively used social media in almost a decade and in February decided to dip my toes in the water and try Farcaster. I think that was a good call.

My growth here is slow compared to others that started around the same time as me, but I’m much more interested in connecting with quality humans and content, and challenging myself to reciprocate that quality, than focusing on growth numbers.

Mentally, it feels like I’ve only dipped a bit further than my toes at this point but creating content is a muscle that needs repping, and I’ve got a decade of entropy to overcome.

Thank you to every one of you. It’s funny, I can almost “feel” each milestone of spreading out in FC, finding pockets of community, and settling deeper into them. Wild how different it feels to be on FC every day now vs six months ago.

I’m curious, what do you want to see more of from me? What gets you to stop scrolling for a moment and what can I do to improve those moments? This is a two way street; I want to be challenged to deliver better content and value to you all.

My proposed new logo for Warpcast combines the concepts of Entry (keyhole) and Idea (Lightbulb)...

By merging these two symbols, we can take a step further into abstraction and avoid using the initial letter.

@warpcast represents the gateway to a new ecosystem where ideas come to life. Thus, starting with this symbolism allows us to build a unique narrative for the brand.

The one thing UI 3.0 couldn't solve. Wen horizontal scroll in layers panel? Anyone have any workarounds for viewing/selecting deep layers like this other than expanding the sidebar?

My entry for the first /design bounty to make #warpcastslapagain

A more subtle approach; I adapted the existing icon to the soft 3D trend emerging in app icon design. To tie it closer to the FC brand, I used colors from both existing logomarks and gave the bottom of the 'w' a familiar arch, adjusted to fit the icon style.

IDK where to ask or look for help with hyper specific UX problems so yesterday I gave Perplexity a try and it did a lot to unblock me. 

I’m a visual & DIY learner though, so I find large text responses difficult to contextualize. Is there any way to surface more visual responses/references with AI chatbots? (Not looking for generative art)
